Testers Keepers: John Lewis review by Stephen Edwards

The shopping experience at John Lewis was absolutely fantastic, so I would rate it as excellent.

I visited the Cambridge store where I had a general browse around the store and stopped to buy items in four different departments.

I have attached some pictures of the products, in addition to the items in the pictures I bought two pillows, but used them before thinking about taking the picture. The store was clean and tidy, well illuminated and with good signage showing the location of the different departments, which makes a good and less stressful experience when shopping.

The product range in all of the departments exceeded expectations, with a selection of items ranging from the good value and more affordable to the top quality and more expensive.

The customer service received was second to none. In every department we were asked if we required help. When we requested further information relating to the items that we were thinking of purchasing, the assistants were very informative and helpful, in particular in the bedding department, the two assistants that helped me were incredibly helpful and polite. The assistants seemed happy to offer help and suggestions and then left me to make a decision without pressure.

As I enjoyed the experience very much, I would strongly recommend my friends and family to visit John Lewis for any purchase.

I would definitely visit John Lewis again; it is a pleasure to browse around the store and if I need any further information regarding a product that I might be interested in the assistants are sure to be on hand to help.

I think that the products are either value for money or worth the money. John Lewis offered for example a range of “basic” towels that are very good value for money and other products are competitively priced when compared to other providers, so you are always sure to get good value.

I do not have any suggestions to improve the product range or the customer service, as I consider both excellent.

The only thing that could have been better, was that when buying a purse, there was a display showing “20% off selected items” and I could not find how to differentiate which items were included on the offer and which items were not, without asking the assistant, I asked about a particular purse and the assistant was happy to help, but it should be clearly marked.
