Testers Keepers: Amazon Echo Review

Posted on 15 November 2017

A few weeks ago, I received an Amazon Echo from Testers Keepers. After seeing it all over TV adverts I was very intrigued by this little device.

The Echo allows me to command a computer, using voice control to do things. The voice response on the echo is extremely good. It very rarely gets anything wrong and you can speak normally and the Echo also known as Alexa will hear you, even from another room.

Although the Amazon Echo just looks like a basic cylindrical speaker, the design is very sleek and the quality of the product is extremely high. The Echo is easy enough to place in most rooms and homes without being an eyesore.

There is an Amazon Echo alternative, known as the Echo Dot. The price difference is very large considering from what I’ve read there is not a huge difference between then two. With an RRP of £150 I would most defiantly consider this product overpriced when buyers could easily get the Echo Dot for a fraction of the price.

Some of the best features of The Echo is that it is extremely quick to respond and understands commands with ease. Not only this but you can ask for the time from anywhere in your house and get the answer straight away. Although this isn’t a huge thing, it can become very handy if you're rushing in the morning. The Echo can also tell you the temperature at that time and what the conditions are like throughout the day which is great to prepare for the day.

The only improvement I can think of for the product is the price.

I would rate The Echo an 8 out of 10 and would most definitely recommend it to anyone.
